About Us

Grace Temple Outreach Ministries (G.T.O.M.) is comprised of organizations that are aimed at reaching the whole community. It is the desire and function of this ministry to be free of doctorial and philosophical differences that have played a role in the disconnect of our community.

It’s inception began with the Dismas House, a gateway for men that were disconnected from society. It’s purpose was to reconnect them with their community by giving them the tools and the resources to do so. The founding fathers were the late Reverend Everett Thornton and Father Jim Flannigan. These men laid the foundation and inspiration to provide a structured and therapeutic environment. Their vision allowed men and woman, whose human frailties submitted them to hopelessness, the opportunity to choose a different lifestyle. Dismas House served the community for over 30 years having a life changing effect on many individuals and families.

Grace Temple Outreach Ministries continues that legacy by extending the horizons of the vision. We accept the responsibility of teen violence, teen pregnancy and dysfunctional families. Our primary goal is to not only treat those symptoms but to help the community find cures for the core causes of these conditions. We understand that men and women are not born but made, therefore it requires the proper nourishment to restore family structure.

The basis of all of G.T.O.M. is Spirituality, which is the essence of oneness. Statistics reveal that previous and existing programs are struggling due to gaps in services. As a whole, the function of community is broken due to lack of direction. If we can bridge the gaps that have separated us, we will rediscover our sense of community. G.T.O.M. is willing to work with any individuals or entity that has an interest in bridging that gap. Now is the time that together we must use our common interest (the betterment of humanity) and set aside our perceived differences; rebuild and reconnect in the spirit of oneness.
